GETTING A TATTOO
GETTING A TATTOO
Choosing Your Tattoo
There is no time limit for choosing a design. We have a comfortable waiting area where you can browse through numerous design and reference books. Although the artists may be occupied, they will be happy to speak to you in between clients
COST OF A TATTOO
Cost of your Tattoo
Although cost is inevitably a question, it is not wise to let this dictate your choice of design. The cost of a tattoo must be thought of in context. After all, how many other purchases do you make that will be with you for the rest of your days?
Iit never fails to amaze me that some people will spend hundreds of pounds on a single outfit of clothing, but baulk at the idea of lavishing a fraction of that cost on that most precious of organs, their skin.
GETTING TATTOOED
It is important to realise a few things before you get yourself tattooed. The process, although not excruciating, is none the less sometimes uncomfortable. The act of getting tattooed is a two way street, and artist & client must cooperate very closely to achieve the best results. Listen carefully to the artists advice, they are very experienced and have a lot to offer over and above their artistic talents. Distractions, such as bringing friends, are usually unhelpful as they will not be with you in the chair and from the waiting area will not be able to empathise with your feelings and may even undermine your confidence, which can play a large part in how you handle the process. Also taking any drugs including alcohol are more likely to distort your perception of pain and reduce your ability to communicate with your tattoo artist, which as we have already said is of paramount importance.
Try to arrive in a relaxed frame of mind. Make sure you don't have to rush from, and back too work. The tattoo you are about to receive will be with you to the grave and is worth giving up a day for. Also, have a good meal a couple of hours before you are tattooed, The artists see it as part of their job to put you at ease, if you feel uncomfortable about something, let them know. It is in their interest too for you to be in a good frame of mind and will facilitate the process for both youself and the tattoo artist.
TATTOO AFTERCARE
Tattoo Aftercare
Do not remove dressing from your tattoo for at least 2 hours, or as recommended by your artist. Wash with mild soap, pat dry with a clean towel and apply moisturiser once or twice a day. Do not pick or scratch scabs, do not swim, sunbathe or soak the tattooed area, as this will affect the colour and intensity of your healed tattoo.
